Somebody said to me that our wedding day would be the best day of our lives that we would NEVER want to do again. This was so true! Being married is even better than the wedding day!
How did the proposal happen ?
After months apart at a time, trying to make long distance work, lots of goodbyes and LOTS of plane trips back & forth, Jake surprised me by coming home one weekend and asking me to marry him. I got home from work and there he was in my house, surrounded by candles. Biggest. Surprise. Ever.
What did you love most about your venue ?
Other than the accommodating staff who did all they could for us despite looming restrictions, we loved the space & various areas. We got married under a big fig tree, guests enjoyed the courtyard while we had our photos taken & then the reception was in the hangar. So many wow factors
Stand out suppliers ?
Emma supplied us with such a wide variety of amazing photos and so much more than what we could have expected! Ruby Lane Flower co literally created the bouquet of my dreams. So many people told me not to go with a huge bouquet, but I did. And it was so light (not heavy to carry at all) and ended up being the favourite part of my outfit! Butchers Pantry supplied us with the most filling, home style cooked meal. We didn’t want anything too fancy, just something that would leave everybody full & they did such a great job at an amazing price.
Something funny that happened on the day ?
Welllll… I decided I wasn’t going to wear any underwear underneath my wedding dress… bad idea. Right before I was about to walk the aisle I was so nervous that I felt I needed the support and extra layer that only underwear could provide. So my Maid of Honor took her underwear off & gave them to me. I later told Jake about the underwear incident. This was fine, until he told everybody in his speech that I was wearing my Aunty/Maid of Honors underwear.
