inspiration: We are true lovers of earthy tones, pops of colour and are hopeless romantics at heart. We wanted to create something that felt true to us and that would sing to our fellow boho luxe brides to be. There is something so timeless and elegant about a neutral color palette with carefully considered tones; whether it’s a year from now or in a decade, you will still be in love with the style as you were on the day. It was important to us that we worked with the venue and it’s existing fixtures to create a style and colour palette that felt like an extension of the venue.
highlights: The highlight of any shoot that I have planned is the amazing bunch of creatives that I am blessed to have worked with. The wedding industry is filled with so many amazing people that are out there to support one another and turn a couples dream wedding into reality.
challenges: Originally Kylie from Wilde Botanicals and myself – Boho Luxe & Co planned to do a floral installation on the tree, starting from the trunk and out to the branches. As we were battling with the loss of light and had used so many flowers for the dining table installation, the installation wasn’t looking as ‘full’ as we envisioned, so I made a split minute decision to have the flowers on the ground at the truck of the tree in a crescent moon like structure. It was a blessing in disguise and it turned out so beautifully. Kylie was such a champion, once I made the decision, she put her full trust in me and we worked together ever so quickly to create the beautiful arrangement that you now see in these stunning images captured by Florin Lane.
what led you to decide on this venue? The Acre actually approached me. The PLB Group (Osteria, Ancora, Taverna & The Acre) had just taken over the very well known and popular wedding venue. Having recently completed some renovations to the barn, they were wanting to update their imagery and head for a modern luxe style as opposed to the rustic DIY weddings the venue was known for.
favourite detail: I absolutely loved every detail of this shoot! So it’s a hard one to answer, but if I had to choose, it would be the dining table. It was dreamy, intimate and so romantic.
