This week we heard from Love in Lace in Kent, UK.

The story of Love in Lace

Love in Lace was created after I got married in 2017 and didn’t want to leave the world of weddings behind! I wanted to create a unique and relaxed bridal environment for stylish and fashion conscious brides.

What inspired you to go into the bridal industry?

Having worked in ladieswear buying for several large fashion companies, and in the meantime falling in love with weddings and bridalwear, I wanted to combine my passion for these two things. I had always enjoyed finding pieces of clothing that made women feel great, and what makes women feel better than their wedding dress?!

Tell us a bride memory that always brings a smile to your face.

It has to be thinking back to our very first customer, who happened to be a really close friend of mine. When she said ‘yes to the dress’ it was the moment I realised that my dream had become a reality, and I was going to be able to make other people’s dreams come true too!

What gets you most excited to go to work each day?

Styling our gorgeous brides, giving them ideas and making them smile! It also gets me every time when anyone from the bridal party cries!

What’s one moment in your career in bridal that you’ll never forget?

In our first 6 months we were finalists in three categories in the Bridal Buyer Awards. It felt amazing to be recognised nationally so soon after opening & it has been onwards and upwards since then!

What’s one piece of advice you give to every bride?

Be yourself, and reflect your own style. Don’t worry too much about the opinion of others, as it’s you wearing your dress, no one else!

If you were choosing a MWL dress for your big day, which one would you pick?

This is incredibly hard but I would have to say Rosey or Archie, and Cath’s all-time favourite is Joey!

What makes your team stand out from the crowd?  Tell us about them!

We are a two woman team! I have owned Love in Lace since 2019, and when I had my daughter in 2020 I took on the amazing Cath and we haven’t looked back since! She becomes every bride’s best friend, never ceases to make everyone laugh and feel really comfortable. She is also an incredible and experienced Stylist!
