MWL has stockists all over the globe and we want to give our MWL girls a chance to get to know them better.

This week we heard from Ruthie, owner of Blue Bridal Boutique in Austin, Texas, USA.

Share the story of Blue Bridal Austin.

We opened 10 years ago. Our mission has always been to provide the boutique experience for all of our brides. When we opened I was still an elementary school teacher for the first 2 years of our boutique. I would teach school until 3pm every day and the head to the store for the rest of the evening and on the weekends. It was a crazy time but sooo much fun!

What inspired you to go into the bridal industry?

I had a part time wedding coordinating business before we opened Blue Bridal Boutique and my favorite part was helping the bride find her dress 🙂

Tell us a bride memory that always brings a smile to your face.

Truly, we have the most amazing brides. There are so many special moments that we have been able to be a part of. One of my favorites was a bride moved her wedding up because her father was in hospice care. We worked with the designer to get the dress early and her sweet dad was able to walk her down the aisle. It still brings a smile and a tear at the same time.

What gets you most excited to go to work each day?

Helping people imagine what they are going to look like on the most pictured day of their life is the very best! Also, that moment that you can see on someone’s face that they feel beautiful is the very best.

What’s one piece of advice you give to every bride?

Go in to your appointment with an open mind. Each dress makes you feel different and sometimes they surprise you 🙂

What makes your team stand out from the crowd? Tell us about them!

Our team is the very best!!! We really focus on spectacular customer service. Molly is our manager and she does an amazing job of making sure that people are well taken care of and having the best time during their appointments.

What’s one moment in your career in bridal that you’ll never forget?

The day that we moved to our second location that was twice as big as our first location. I never dreamed that we would be able to expand our business. Also my husband made a speech at the grand opening party that I will never forget. He’s the best and has walked by my side through this business for all 10 years – on top of his full time job.

If you were choosing a MWL dress for your big day, which one would you pick?

This is such a tough question because I love them all!!! If I had to choose I would wear Penny to the wedding ceremony and Archie to the reception 🙂 I can’t choose just one!
