OUR MWL SHAPEWEAR RECOMMENDATIONS

The MWL Girls often receive DMs and emails from our brides asking for shapewear recommendations, so we have put together a list of some brands we have heard excellent reviews about!  Of course, we always recommend visiting your local department store first to get advice from a professional, tailored to your needs.

Shapewear is absolutely not a necessity for any of our dresses, we just want our brides to feel their most confident and comfortable self on their big day!  Since our fabrics (especially our double layer French crepe) are thick and figure-hugging, many brides find they don’t require any extra support from shapewear in MWL designs.  The models in our shoots don’t wear any shapewear at all 😉

Kim Kardashian’s Skims is a self-proclaimed innovator in the shapewear industry, dedicated to providing shapewear solutions for Every Body.  We have heard amazing reviews from our MWL Brides through their MWL Girl Blogs about the Skims brand, as they have so many different options to suit any dress design, body type or complexion!  You can navigate their website based on the level of support you are looking for and Skims even has a dedicated bridal collection offering support in an extensive range of styles.

Ender Legard

Our UK team love to recommend Ender Legard!  Their co-founder and designer has a history working as a tailor for a couture designer in the UK, which gave her an excellent background understanding of bridal and evening wear and how to navigate the difficulties of achieving undergarment support for specialist designs.  The brand offer customised advice from their stylists via LiveChat, Facebook Messenger or email on which of their shapewear or lingerie styles would best suit your particular dress.  They also have a useful blog with tips on how to achieve the best result from your shapewear on your big day.

Spanx

Spanx by Sara Blakely had its beginnings in 1998 and has established itself as a top-of-mind, trusted shapewear brand ever since! Their long history has given this brand the time to perfect their designs and expand their style options by listening to the needs of their customer base. Spanx also has a dedicated wedding collection and special occasion solutions collection on their website featuring deep V, backless and tummy control solutions that would be an amazing fit with some of our MWL designs.  We can’t deny that when we think of shapewear, so many of us think of Spanx first and foremost!
