Zandra + Harry
How did you meet?
Harry and I met while he was in New Zealand in his year abroad. We were in the same halls of residence when I was in my first year of University.
How did you know they were the one?
I knew I loved Harry when, having surprised him on Christmas morning by showing up at his dorm room, I simply didn’t want to leave him to go home afterwards. Harry and I spent a few years long distance between New Zealand and the UK, flying back and forwards to see one another. The kind of commitment to keep that going and keep the spark alive takes a special kind of person- I pretty quickly knew he was the one.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
He’s charismatic, funny and affectionate.
Who proposed and how?
We were on a trip to Norway while I was in Europe visiting him (we’d been dating for 6 years, but long-distance at that point). While on top of a mountain overlooking a beautiful fjord Harry got down on one knee and asked me to end long-distance forever and become his wife- I obviously said yes!
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
Hands down our first look we did pre-ceremony. Having some time to be alone and share that intimate moment of seeing one another for the first time that day was priceless.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I fell in love with Joey at Bluebelle Bridal (Wellington, NZ). She was the perfect balance of comfortable, boho and fun which was perfect for how I wanted to feel and the picture of our day we had in mind.
What were your favourite details?
Everything! The dress, the florals, the person I was marrying- it all came together exactly as we wanted and was a great day full of laughter and love.
What advice would you tell other brides?
Try to take a breather and just enjoy the day- it really does fly by so fast. Absolutely a sneak off with your husband for a few minutes alone at some point and have your photographer follow to capture those beaut intimate moments.
