Tricia + William

How did you meet?

Tricia Marie Telles was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tricia went to the University of Kentucky for college. Currently, Tricia is a sales representative in the medical device industry.

William Steele Gray III was born in Greenwich, CT, and raised in Stamford, CT. After attending Millbrook School, Will went on to St. Michaels College in Burlington, VT for 2 years before transferring to the University of Kentucky. Currently, Will is the Director of Marketing in the entertainment industry.

On May 23, 2019, Tricia and Will met at Harvey’s in Lexington, KY at a mutual friend’s birthday party. As Will recalls, Tricia was wearing salmon colored pants and a blue shirt. He remembers how beautiful she looked as every detail of her outfit was perfectly in style.

After a few drinks, Tricia left. Little did she know that a few months later she would run into Will on a night out. Will walked right up to Tricia that night and said he remembered meeting her and described the outfit she was wearing on May 23rd- in detail.

Tricia’s friend (Katie Applewhite) whispered to Tricia, “that is kind of creepy he remembers your outfit” and Tricia laughed and said, “At least he has a good memory-I can appreciate that.”

Tricia and Will went on to become good friends, and he always asked her to eat dinner with him or go shopping with him. They bonded over many similar interests including traveling, wanting to change the world, video games, fashion, interior design ideas, business ideas, shooting, politics-and so much more!

In January 2019, Will asked Tricia out on a real date and told her he wanted to be in a relationship with her. They both agreed to give it a shot.

When the pandemic started, Will went to Tricia’s house to “quarantine.” Will was supposed to quarantine with Tricia for just a week, but they quickly became inseparable. Weeks turned into months and Will told Tricia, “This is it. We should move in together.” He sold his house and moved into Tricia’s house.

A few months later, Will contacted his favorite jeweler and designed a ring for Tricia all by himself. Somehow, he managed to hide the engagement ring in Tricia’s closet in his jacket without her ever knowing (it is really hard to get something like this past Tricia).

On May 14, 2021, Will proposed to Tricia in the most organic and perfect way.

Tricia called her sister immediately to tell her the news. Ironically, Tricia’s sister just moved into her new home that day on “Gray’s Peak.” I think we can all agree May 14, 2021 was Will Gray’s peaking point. 🙂

When did you know they were the one?

Will says he knew Tricia was the one during a vacation they took early on in their relationship to The Breakers in Palm Beach. After saying they were going to quarantine in Tricia’s house for “just a week”, Will never left Tricia’s house! Tricia agrees with Will!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My 3 favorite attributes of Will are he is extremely thoughtful and generous, supportive and loyal.

Will’s favorite attributes about Tricia he she lights up a room, she is passionate and very witty.

Who proposed and how?

On May 14, 2021, Will proposed to Tricia in the most organic and perfect way. He had tried to make amazing travel plans at all different places, but many places still had restrictions due to the pandemic or they just weren’t lining up with Will’s timeframe. On May 14, Tricia got home from work and Will said Tricia looked so beautiful and something in him was telling him to go get the ring. Will ran upstairs and got the ring and got down on one knee in the living room -Tricia turned around and covered her mouth-she had no idea the proposal was coming -and she said “Absolutely!”

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Relix Bridal in Lexington, KY. I followed MWL social accounts once I got engaged and fell in love with all of their gowns. When I tried on the Harlow it fit me like a glove. I did not need any alterations (except I took the straps in a little bit), and I could move in the dress-it was like it was made for me. The veil is a show stopper. No other veil compares in my mind.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding

Will seeing me in my dress for the first time-the first look photo says it all!!

What were your favorite details?

My favorite details were getting married at an iconic location-Keeneland. I love the simplicity of the black and white theme while letting the venue provide the most beautiful scenery. I loved marrying the love of my life and dancing the night away with him! I loved my dress, the veil and the little details like the simple Cartier studs I wore with a champagne clutch and my something blue being my new initials on the inside of the clutch.
I also loved Will’s Brackish bow tie and the fact he changed into a white dinner jacket at the reception!

What advice would you tell other brides?

I hope he’s like my Will-if not, everyone needs to find themselves a William! Will was a very hands on groom, so my advice is to let your groom help you and get him involved. Be organized so you can truly relax and enjoy every moment. I was the most calm on my wedding day and I believe it was due to my level or organization leading up to the big day. Also, a wedding planner is 100% worth it.

Any standout vendors?

I absolutely loved the location we got ready at -The Blushery. It has a champagne bar, a place to get ready, the best stylists and also the perfect backdrops for getting ready photos.
I loved our photographer-he truly captured our personalities in the photos.
The band Kudmani was amazing and super interactive-every person was dancing with tambourines and light sticks during the wedding.
Overall, all of the vendors we worked with were outstanding.
