How did you meet?
Josh and I met while I was in nursing school!
When did you know they were the one?
We were invited to a mutual friend’s cottage in Muskoka – Canada in September 2013 and by Christmas time we were madly in love!
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner
Josh is the most kind, smart, and thoughtful person I have, and will ever meet. He is also extremely selfless – proposing on his 30thbirthday – a weekend I had been planning for him at his own family cottage!
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I actually had been part of a number of weddings as a bridesmaid before being a bride myself. I had looked online at dresses I thought I may like someday! I saw the Sienna gown,gorgeous detail in the top and simply beautiful in the bottom, pearl straps to top it off – I saved the image in my phone. After we got engaged, I looked online at MWL. I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to find the dress in Canada… sure enough Pearl Bridal House carried it! (a short drive away). I went with my mom – just to get a feel for dresses – I tried Sienna on first and came out of the dressing room “beaming” as my Mom says. That was it! I did try on a few other MWL dresses that day but felt like myself in Sienna, a true gut feeling that was amazing. Really, the MWL style and feel in all of the dresses was so ME.
Who proposed and how?
We took the Friday off work on June 22, 2018. We went down to the dock to swim, lie in the sun, and have a few drinks! Sitting on the edge of the dock I made a toast to him for his 30th birthday…he then said he wanted to make a toast to me! Was this really happening?? Of course it’s all a blur, but before I knew it he had the ring box open and asked me to marry him! YES. The cherry on top was that he had invited his family and my family up to the cottage for the weekend. We celebrated all together for 2 full days!
Where did you go to Honeymoon?
Josh and I left for the Greek Islands (the very next day after the wedding) for 2 weeks on our honeymoon – it was incredible. Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete are places everyone should visit in their lifetime.
