Tayla + Jake

How did you meet?

Jake & I met over a decade ago, we’re high school sweet hearts who met at the front of our friends house, little 14 year old Jake come up & introduced himself with a face full of soft serve ice cream due to trying to show off.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Jake was the one about a year and a half after being ‘just friends’. I knew he was the one when he prioritised my happiness, and went out of his way to show me how important I am & how In love he is with me.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

– his loyalty
– his lively and contagious personality
– his determination and commitment to his little family

Who proposed and how?

Jake proposed in FNQ palm cove. He had planned a romantic dinner for an early celebration of our anniversary. We walked amongst the palm trees along the beach, I was a few steps ahead of Jake before I heard a chocked up ‘Tay’. I turned around and there he was, on one knee, tears in his eyes and ring in hand as he asked me to be his wife. A professional photographer then appeared on the beach as Jake had organised this, we then finished the night off with a romantic dinner & wine.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with the Austin dress in the MWL Sydney St. Ives store.
I fell in love with the Austin dress as it seamlessly fit to my body, it was effortlessly perfect. The back of the dress is to die for.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My favourite moment would have to be when I walked down the aisle, as soon as the chapel doors opened, seeing Jake standing up there emotional, with a face full of tears and eyes full of love— priceless. I wish I could relive that moment over & over again.

What were your favourite details?

Definitely pjs fireworks, table ware & champagne tower.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Live in the moment, it’s so cliche and EVERYONE says it, but honestly there are so many emotions that turn up pre wedding and during your day, so remind yourself to take it all in, feel every emotion and enjoy every minute as it really does FLY by.
