Stacey + Paul

How did you meet?

We met in 2007 (in a local night club) before becoming official in 2008! We still both remember the moment we saw each other and what we we wearing!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Paul was the one when in 2008 I went away travelling solo, with a 1 ticket and no set return date I thought that after a few phone calls it would fizzle out. My mum emailed me while I was away [some weeks in to my trip] to say that they had a visitor the night previous and it was Paul – he went in, sat down and chatted with them for the evening! From that moment I knew there was a future. 4 months later and the day after landing back in the UK – Paul picked me up and we went for lunch!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Ability to remain calm in almost all situations!
His positive / can do attitude
Patience of a saint!

Who proposed and how?

Paul proposed in 2018! My birthday falls at the end of November and so for a few weeks leading up Paul organised some cards to come through the door courtesy of Moonpig giving clues about what we might be doing for my 30th! At this point – I knew I had to pack a suitcase, that the weather would be warm and the dates I needed to have off work. As anyone would be I was over the moon when we got to the airport to check in and the screen above the desk was a BA flight to the Maldives! I actually cried.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at the bridal shop Adella Bridal in Ketteringham – an official stockist of MWL bridal. It was dress No.5 – I was with my mum only and it was the one.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

There are SO many from the location in Italy to doing a fist look moment with my Dad to a special balloon release to commemorate Paul’s Mum. But my highlight is walking down the aisle to see Paul’s face and our crazy drive through the streets of Sorrento in our wedding car – a bright red Fiat 500!

What were your favourite details?

The flower girls floral hoops
The page boys signs telling their uncle that the bride is on the way (and that for once she is on time!)
The stationary that I created
My shoes!

What advice would you tell other brides?

OH SO MANY THINGS
1. Start a budget tracker early and include e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g – even the smallest cost
2. Don’t sweat every last detail – others won’t notice and you won’t care half as much on the day – I promise
3. Do the things you can do early – buy pressies, write cards, sort gifts and accessories for bridal party – all of this is easier to do when there isn’t bigger things to decide and pay for.
4.Give your phone to a guest or bridesmaid for the day and get them to capture the day

Any standout vendors?

@bella_sposa was our Italian wedding planner and we couldn’t have done it without her.

Our photographer was a dream to work with @pippacarvellphotography. Located in Wales but knows Sorrento like the back of her hand!
