Sophie + Alex

How did you meet?

It’s a modern Love story, we actually met on tinder.

When did you know they were the one?

As soon as we met I knew I’d marry this man. After meeting a few times he went travelling and after two weeks he flew home, from that minute I pretty much moved in and well the rest is history.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Only three, hate to sound soppy but there so many incredible attributes about Alex.

He’s incredibly hard working he pushes himself everyday to be a better and Challenges himself to reach his goals.

He also has the kindest heart of anyone I know, he truly makes me feel so loved and cared for. I feel so lucky to have met someone who has such a kind heart.

Thirdly he never fails to make me laugh. He’s so funny, from the minute I wake up in the morning until I sleep at night I have a smile on my face.

Who proposed and how?

One of my favourite stories to tell! It was the weekend before my birthday and he had planned a cute weekend break in a Shepherds Hut north of Cornwall. Usually Mammal is a nice time of year, start of spring, sun is usually shining and everyone’s getting excited for summer. Well May 2021 it rained, a lot! Alex had told me where we were going and I was instantly in a mood, anyone that knows Cornwall in England will know when it’s raining there’s absolutely nothing to do. So the whole car journey I moaned the whole way (such a brat) haha. When we arrive we went for dinner along the sea front. Luckily and thankfully the clouds moved and the sun appears so we went for a coastal walk to watch the sunset. He took me to this incredible view point which had a 360 view of the ocean and coastline it was truly breathtaking. As we watched the sunset Alex set his phone up on self timer for a quick picture little did I know he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I obviously said yes and felt so bad for being so horrible haha.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had a journey with my dress, I’m not going to lie I had my eye on a MWL dress for years now. I followed them on Instagram and every new dress that came out I sent to my mum which then lead to me finding a boutique close to home which stocked them. I actually tried on about 20 dresses in total , and there wasn’t one that stood out at all. I always felt I wanted something wow, something with lots of details, embellishments etc. But my dad from a young age had always said to me “ Soph if and when you get married, just remember less is more” and it stuck with me which  is when I found Ryder. As soon as I put it on I just knew it was the one! After months of a few tweaks and customising it to suit my shape more, I picked it up 2 weeks before my wedding and honestly it was a dream come true. I absolutely loved it, the dress needs more credit!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Well, this is so difficult! Getting married on a Greek island with 50 of your best friends and family, I mean it doesn’t get much better then that. But we took 10 minutes during dinner to walk to the top of our venue, the sun was starting to set, the candles were lit, we had a saxophonist playing whilst our guest were overlooking the sea it was so moving. A feeling I have never felt before, my dream finally came true, I just cried it was fairytale.

What were your favourite details?

I think small details mean more to you as a bride then anyone else on the day. I wanted each and everyone of my guest to feel the feelings we were. Alex actually picked our first dance songs and we wanted to surprise and wow our guest, we had ground flames and fireworks, we looked at all our guest and they were crying everyone was so surprised it was best decision we made.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Easier said then done but honestly there’s no need to stress. Get yourself a wedding planner even if your like me and a total control freak it takes a lot of pressure away. I instantly relaxed and the day ran smoothly.

Oh and get yourself a incredible photographer that you end up becoming friends with. Our photos have blown us away.

Any standout vendors?

This leads onto this question 100% of photographer and videographer Marta and Michael , words can’t describe there talents I have never in my life met two people so passionate about what they do, they make the whole day to magical.

Also our venues Ktima, it’s a cliff top restaurant on the Greek island of Rhodes it’s in a little place called Lindos, breathtaking.
