How did you meet?

We met on a dating app actually! Thank god for technology and modern love 🙂

When did you know they were the one?

Nick always says that he could have proposed on our first date! We had an epic first date where he spilled red wine all over me at dinner, but I couldn’t be bothered in the slightest because I was having such a great time. I texted my girls that night and said he was the one- but we didn’t get engaged for another 18 months.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His incredible patience- he is the water sign to my fire sign and keeps me grounded. His huge and caring heart- Nick is a doctor and has been so amazing through the pandemic, he continues to inspire me every day. Finally- his ability to make me laugh in any situation.

Who proposed and how?

Nick proposed to Sonya- he used our dog Nina by writing ‘will you marry me’ on a tennis ball. On a very sweet afternoon filled with a picnic and walk by the river, passed me the ball to throw for her but asked me to look at it first. By the time I read it he was down on one knee.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

After getting engaged I scoured the internet for a unique and modern dress. I stumbled across MWL photos on IG and immediately fell in love with Lola with her simple but sexy cut and the AMAZING sequins. Everyone knows I’m a sequins gal- my closet is full of them. I never thought I could have a full sequin wedding gown and when I saw her I just knew. My fiancé said that it’s the most ‘me’ dress he could have dreamed up

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

I loved our first dance, and I loved that our dog Nina could be part of the ceremony as well! She was part of the engagement so it really was a full circle moment. I also loved having my niece and nephew as flower girl and ring bearer- near the end of the ceremony my nephew yelled “are you going to kiss??” And it made everyone laugh. So cute.
