Shelby + Nick

How did you meet?

We met off of the app bumble, but the catch is that I made a move on another dating app and Nick ignored me! A couple of months went by and I thought he looked familiar on Bumble… don’t worry he responded that time! Our first date was a local sushi restaurant and we have a tradition of going every year on the day we met.

When did you know they were the one?

From the moment I met his dog, Daisy. The love Nick shows towards others, especially animals is truly so heartwarming.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Hard working, generous, loyal.

Who proposed and how?

Nick proposed in Martha’s Vineyard by the Edgartown lighthouse. He truly knocked the proposal out of the park because there were so many bumps along the road. Nick had to dodge many of my questions/ suspicions, change the plan due to weather, keeping the photographer updated, all while trying to stay calm and cool. We were able to hire our same photographer at the engagement for our wedding. That was very special to us.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I first saw Archie on #weddingtiktok after I had already booked an appointment at a bridal salon. I was not very confident they would carry my dream dress… to my surprise they did! I fell in love with beautiful simplicity yet chic style of Archie. It was the dress of my dreams. Simple. Chic. Timeless. Classic.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Probably the first look. Nobody else was around besides our photographer and videographer. It was a very special moment that I wouldn’t have changed for the world.

What were your favourite details?

The flower circle for the ceremony, the beautiful venue at the Wadsworth mansion, the string lights during the reception, my shoes and veil. One of my favorites moments throughout wedding planning was taking dance lessons. Nick and I really enjoyed the quality time together while learning a new skill.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Have fun!!! Especially with the planning leading up to the wedding. Your wedding is more than just the day off, it includes all of the planning and events beforehand! Also follow your timeline… it can become very overwhelming but just remember to focus on one item at a time.
