How did you meet?

My husband, DJ, and I met through a mutual friend on a family camping trip at 1770 over the Easter in 2009. It was quite strange because there was a group of family and friends that occupied about 20 campsites for the last 40 years and when I was younger we would go every year. When my family moved up North and life got too busy with sport and school etc, my family stopped going camping for a few years and when I stopped going, DJ started going with our mutual friend. Little did I know that during this time he was meeting a bunch of my aunties and uncles, cousins and close family friends! It wasn’t until we were both there in 2009, we met and from then we were almost inseparable!

When did you know he was the one?

When we met, he lived in Central Queensland and I lived in Brisbane, so we had a long distance relationship for a  bit. I knew he was the one when we would spend hours on the phone each night, he would save his apprentice wage to fly down to see me every second weekend (not bad for an 18 year old guy!) and he would make me feel so calm and at ease with everything while still having endless fun at the same time! He balanced me out perfectly. Once he moved to Brisbane a couple of years into our relationship, it cemented my feelings that he was the one I wanted to spend my life with.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had been following MWL for some time and I knew that I would be wearing a MWL dress. They are beautiful, but carefree and easy to wear at the same time. I actually already had Sasha locked in a couple of weeks earlier but once I saw Stevie on the MWL instagram page, I knew that I HAD to try her on. I never thought I would be the sort of person to have a “WOW” moment, but once I put Stevie on, I knew that she would be walking down the aisle with me.

As soon as I walked out of the change room, John Mayer’s cover of Beyonce’s XO started playing which we had just chosen to be our aisle song and I knew there was no looking back! The lace on Stevie was like nothing I had ever seen before. I absolutely loved how it really popped against the mesh and how beautiful the train was. Once I received her in the beautiful packaging, I couldn’t stop having little sneak peeks and trying her on when my husband wasn’t home!

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

We spent a couple of days at Coolangatta after our wedding with our wedding guests and then headed to the Maldives and Koh Lipe which is a small island in Thailand. It was so lovely to relax and let it all sink in!
