How did you meet?

We first met when I started high school, Sam’s a few years older than I, and I vividly remember him getting called on stage in school assembly’s. Who would’ve knew that little 12 year old me was looking at the love of my life!

When did you know they were the one?

When we were standing in a bar in Queenstown. We’d been living together for 18 months, we were the best of friends. I turned to Sam and said ‘I think I love you’, and he said it back. The rest was history.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Dedication, his positive mindset, loving nature.

Who proposed and how?

Sam proposed – we were standing on the waterfront at around 7 with a group of friends. It was New Year’s Eve, and we were just laughing away. I turned round and Sam was on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes, and within a matter of minutes he was out on the jet ski again. It was hilarious!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love at Bride and Winter in Dunedin – I’ve always been in love with MWL, and knew that I had to have one on my wedding day. I love feminine and chic it made me feel. The most beautiful dresses

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment for me was Sam’s reaction. I never expected him to cry, I knew he’d show emotion in his own way, but as soon as he seen our youngest daughter and then myself walk down the aisle he was really emotional and filled with tears. He loved my dress!

What were your favourite details?

My favourite details were my pearl veil along with the back of my dress. As I did a custom order and had Parker at the front, and Harry at the back people weren’t expecting a low plunging back with such a high neckline. I absolutely adore it.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Try on as many dress styles as you can, and allow yourself extra time to order and select. It really is such a big decision so give it the time and effort it deserves.
