Selina + Ryan

How did you meet?

Ryan and I met when we were so very young, back when he was in high school and I was headed to college (some would call me a cougar). We met at our summer job at a water park as lifeguards. Our worlds collided and have been together ever since.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one when I saw him interact with a puppy. My heart swell and I saw a future with kids and a family full of dogs.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

I love his sincerity, honesty and confidence.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed on Friday, October 4, 2019 at our house. He had lit candles and flowers everywhere and was waiting for me when I came home from work. The dogs were in tuxedos and he had large Marry Me balloons. I collapsed to the ground in tears as we waited almost 10 years before getting engaged. Family and friends celebrated with us all weekend long.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my Rosey dress the weekend he proposed. I had immediately started pinning and saving images and Rosey was one of the first dresses I saw and had to try on. Luckily Bella Bleu Bridal in Illinois had the dress for me to try on. It felt the most me, traditional but unique, fun and flirty with beautiful details

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t sweat the small stuff and do what makes you and your future spouse happy. At the end of the day you’re the one that has to live with the decisions you made, so make sure you love everything you plan. Go with your gut and those who really love you will be happy and there for you.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment was when we walked up to the terrace to take in how many people had travelled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to celebrate us. We’ve never felt so much love and happiness and that was a moment for just us to take it all in and surprise fireworks went off. It was magical.
