Sarah + Matthew

How did you meet?

We met at work. One of my good friends actually spotted Matt at a graduate assessment day and reported back that there was a guy, who was just my type, that would be starting in our office the following September. We hit it off pretty much straight away!

When did you know they were the one?

After doing a bad job of keeping our relationship a secret we started officially dating, about 6 months after we met. How easily Matt fitted in with my friends and family was the key to me knowing he was a keeper!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is funny, caring and loves a party (nearly as much as me)

Who proposed and how?

Matt took me away for a surprise weekend in the Lake District. He had booked a little cottage for the weekend and proposed after a bottle of champagne by the fire.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had tried on so many dresses and couldn’t find anything perfect. I had even looked into having something made. I then found made with love, I actually went to the showroom in London on my own, as I was now a very experienced dress shopper! I tried on a few and loved them all but Parker was the standout and I made the decision on the spot. After sending pictures to my bridesmaids we all agreed it was the stand-out dress

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment was looking around and seeing how happy our friends and family were. We wanted to have a big wedding and so seeing all these people you love enjoying themselves, laughing, hugging and dancing is the best feeling in the world.

What were your favorite details?

We had our wedding at a beautiful country farm in Italy. The farm had a rose garden where we had the ceremony and a beautiful archway covered in jasmine that was the entrance for the bride and the bridal party.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Just enjoy the day. None of the guests notice and of the smaller details, they are all just there to have a good time. The time I had getting ready with my mum and my bridesmaids was so special, make sure you have enough time for that and some time for pictures once you are ready but before the time to walk down the aisle.

Any stand-out vendors?

The venue (and our wedding planner) and the photographers were the standout for us. The venue was Borgo Colognola in Umbria and it is absolutely incredible. The photographers are a married couple Maurizio and Serena at Rellini Art Studio and they captured the magic and chaos of our day perfectly.
