Sarah + Connor

How did you meet?

We met in my college town when Connor was visiting a mutual friend! We exchanged numbers & insta and reconnected a few months later when we were both back home from school for the summer.

When did you know they were the one?

When our families felt like each other’s families, and he blended in with my siblings & extended family I knew he would be the perfect match. We both come from strong family-oriented backgrounds, that this was super important to me.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is funny/goofy and always makes me laugh, he is loyal and will do anything for his best friends or family, he is always down to try something new & never says no to my requests for going somewhere new, eating out or checking out a new spot!

Who proposed and how?

Connor proposed after a boat ride with friends (the boat ride/afternoon was to throw me off) After the boat our plan was to head out to dinner, instead Connor had us dropped off at our neighborhood dock & proposed to me on the dock! Afterwards we walked home and all our family & close friends were at the house waiting to celebrate!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I found my dress at Abigail Bride in Asbury Park NJ. After two other larger dress shop chains, we got a last minute appt at Abigail. This bridal shop with exactly our vibe! I tried on probably 7 or 8 dresses, and fell in love with the classic simplicity (&comfort) of the Rosey Crepe, and loved the romantic/boho look of the lace back & train. I also loved the button detailing down the back. It was classic & simple but had just enough details to make it interesting & unique!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My favorite moment was our ceremony & how peaceful, meaningful & perfect it was. It was so special to be married by my childhood pastor in the church my mom had gone to as a child, on the island my husband was born & raised on. Everything was so meaningful & our ceremony reflected us as a couple.

What were your favourite details?

Everything about our wedding was so perfect! & the details made the day – From getting ready at my parents home, to my childhood pastor being the one to marry us, to getting married in the church my mom grew up in, to my cousin doing all of the florals, to our reception being at my grandparents home on the water, and our food vendors being our favorite LBI restaurants/caterers – everything was so personable & so us !

What advice would you tell other brides?

Everyone says the Day goes by so quick – and it does! Try to take a few moments to just take in everything that’s going on around you whether you’re getting ready in the morning – watch someone else’s hair and make up get done, or when you’re heading to your ceremony location just take a moment, a deep breath and really think about all of the amazingness it’s going on around you & soak it in!
