Sarah + Luca

How did you meet?

My friend downloaded a dating app on my phone and matched with Luca for me, so needless to say she was thanked at the wedding! We are from a fairly small town though and already knew of each other for many years previously. Our first date was a stroll around the botanical gardens in Sheffield, where Luca turned up with a bunch of flowers and a huge smile on his face!

When did you know they were the one?

I would probably say when we got a puppy together, we really knew it was forever.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His sense of humour and silliness.
Can-do attitude and imagination (even if his ideas are bonkers).
Caring nature.

Who proposed and how?

We were on a weekend break and staying in a private lodge on a lake with the dog. Luca asked me to come and look at the fish, when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It took me completely by surprise and I had even just taken my makeup off and got into my pjs.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I first saw Lola on instagram and fell completely in love. I attended a MWL trunk show at Coco and Kate in Hatton (UK) and when I tried her on, I knew she was the one! I never thought I would be one for a glitzy dress and had always pictured myself in a very simple crepe dress, but she just did something for me. I have to say, I loved every single MWL dress and I would have been happy getting married in any of them, but Lola stood out for me.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

I decided to do things a little less traditional and instead of getting a car to the venue with just my dad, I hired a vintage bus and invited my school friends to join, since it was the same bus we had got to our prom. This was one of my favourite parts of the day along with the first dance, where we danced to Proud Mary by Tina Turner.

What were your favourite details?

I have to say the fairy lights and the flowers for decor! We also loved the food and were glad we had spent a little more than we had originally planned on it.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t worry about the little things, because the day is all about love and you won’t care if something isn’t exactly as you planned – no one will notice!

Any standout vendors?

All of them! But a special shout out to Annalise Rose Photography for not only the incredible pictures, but the fact you went out of your way to make sure everything was perfect on the day – we can’t thank you enough!
