How did you meet?
We met in middle school and he was my first “boyfriend”. My father was his elementary school principal. We reconnected after the military took him around the world and finally moved him back to the US- his new station was near my new home. (Across the country from where we grew up)!
How did you know they were the one?
When we “dated” in 8th grade, we went on a school trip across the country. He bought me a souvenir with my name on it- but never gave it to me because we broke up. He kept that magnet for over 20 years and re-presented it to me as an adult. It currently hangs on our refrigerator. He told me he knew he’d have the opportunity to give it to me one day. Anyone that keeps a souvenir for 20 years and “fate” brought together on the opposite side of the country is meant to be.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
He’s loyal, loving and protective.
Who proposed and how?
He proposed to me on the beach in Port Douglas Australia while we were on vacation. We had been together 7 years before he proposed because he wanted it to be somewhere unique and special.
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
When the rain cleared! It was raining hard all day, and about 2 hours prior to the ceremony the sky cleared, fog lifted and you could see the beautiful ocean.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
Because of Covid, there were no bridal shops open locally. I started my search online and fell in love with the MWL designs- specifically the Penny and the Harlow. I bought both! I went back and forth and ended up going with Penny. I loved her 3D lace and the way she hugged my curves. I wish I had worn both though!
What were your favourite details?
My bouquet was exquisite, but my favorite detail of the wedding was our wedding topper- bride and groom sharks!
