Samara + Shen

How did you meet?

Shen and I met online, through a dating app! in 2015 I moved to Barcelona and I didn’t know anyone in the city. So I enter those dating apps and I found him there. We chatted for almost a month before we met in a sushi place. We didn’t kiss the first night and he didn’t approach me romantically, so I was a bit confused if he had liked me or not.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one for me after one month because I never had a boyfriend before so I thought that he would probably be my all. We didn’t get bored with each other, so I think this was the sign.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner

He is funny, he never gets angry with others and he loves to help others.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I tried on the dress in Odet Sauc, in Spain. I actually tried 3 dresses but when I got home I thought about MWLStevie and I thought that it made me look feminine, sexy and myself all at the same time. So I knew it!

Who proposed and how?

He proposed to me but I helped him without even knowing! We traveled to Budapest, Hungary, and I told him I would love to do a quick picnic in the Ferris wheel with wine and something to bite. When we were alone in the cabin, he read a few words he had written to me and it ended with “will you marry me?”. The first thing I said was “is this true?” hahaha And then, of course, we cried and we kissed!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

Hmm, hard to tell! I would say that the fact that I entered singing with my father with my mother by our side. But also that my brothers did our ceremony and of course, the romantic words that Shen had prepared to me.

What surprised you most at or about your wedding?

How magical it is. I was expecting emotions but it was crazy to be the centre of the attention. It a nice but very different experience in life.

What advice would you tell other brides?

The whole purpose of the wedding is to celebrate with your loved ones. This is what matters! Problems might happen, but if you have the purpose of being happy, nothing will go wrong.

What was the one thing you did differently for your wedding?

I entered singing with my father in front of everyone. Also, the fact that I got married is itself unbelievable since I was that girl that everyone thought I would never do such a big party. There were almost 280 people at the wedding. Also, my wedding had lots of Jewish traditions since I’m Jewish. So we did the chuppah, we distributed kippah to all men and the ceremony had many Jewish rituals.
