Samantha + Dominic

How did you meet?

Dom and I are a tinder love story. We met back in 2015 in Melbourne. I had just moved there from the Gold Coast and thought why not have a little swipe as I had moved there on my own and didn’t know many people. It’s true you find it when you are not looking for it. I would never of imagined meeting my future husband on my 3rd swipe.

When did you know they were the one?

Dom obviously had something super special about him from the beginning but both being younger me (25) him (28) I didn’t take it too seriously at the beginning and just had fun with the relationship. Dom gets me out of my shell and I noticed that about him early and knew that he was exactly what I was looking for. As each year went on we learnt more about each other and grew up together and to be honest it just keep getting better.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His passion for adventure

His ability to be himself and very what you see is what you get I love how straight up he is.

The way he shows me unconditional love and loves me for exactly who I am. All quirks included.

Who proposed and how?

Dom proposed in 2020 in Noosa. We had just been told about a snap lockdown at 4pm that day so he quickly took me down to our favourite sunset bar at the Sofitel and dropped his knee.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

In your Gold Coast show room. I knew I wanted something minimalist but with a wow factor and I think #georgia delivered that 110% the way the dress hugged and complimented every part of my body was so beautiful. It’s a dress I will forever look at and be so grateful I got to wear it.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Being surrounded by a so much love of our family and friends in our favourite place. Dom grew up in Byron so it was special to be there for such an important day.

We planned our wedding in 6 months and it was absolutely perfect. I think being engaged and waiting to we knew exactly what we wanted meant when it came time to plan it it was perfect. Seeing the whole day come together was such an amazing feeling.

What were your favourite details?

My dress , veil and my flowers were absolutely beautiful.

My dress made me feel like a bride which is such a beautiful feeling. Everyone couldn’t believe how stunning it was.

My veil I actually ordered off Etsy and changed the design to suit my style exactly. I think it was perfect with the dress minimalist and simple but perfect

My flowers ( I cried everytime I had to throw a bunch out ) they created such an elegant feel. Our florist Estelle is such an artist. She knew exactly what I was wanting after just one phone call

What advice would you tell other brides?

Keep it simple. The minute you start feeling overwhelmed or unsure just think is this me and is it something I’ll look back on and wish I had or had done.

Remember that the day is about you and your partner and try and not get caught up in the minor details that on the day don’t cross your mind.
