How did you meet?
I first crossed paths with my husband, Mateos, back in 2016 at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Initially, our interactions consisted of simple greetings, farewells, and the occasional Ethiopian meal shared with friends. Our paths diverged when Mateos completed his Ph.D. and relocated to France in 2017, leading to a loss of contact. Yet, in 2019, fate intervened when I stumbled upon Mateos’ LinkedIn profile and decided to reconnect, rekindling a profound bond that grew stronger with each passing day.
When did you know they were the one?
While organizing a trip to Portugal with my friends, Mateos insisted I visit him in France, realizing our connection was special. Despite unforeseen circumstances leading to the cancellation of my trip, Mateos invited me to visit him in Chicago during his US trip. Those three enchanting days we spent together in Chicago confirmed what I had suspected: I had fallen for Mateos, a man who made me feel genuinely cherished and appreciated.

KIND, HUMBLE, and POSITIVE!!
Who proposed and how?
On April 16th, 2022, in the enchanting city of New York, surrounded by loved ones, Mateos proposed to me, sealing our destiny together.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I fell in love with my dress even before slipping it on. However, the moment I tried it on, I knew it was the perfect one for me.
What was the best moment for you at your wedding?
The most wonderful moment was when we shared our love with our nearest and dearest.
What advice would you tell other brides?
Seize the full joy of your wedding day as it will quickly become a cherished memory.
