Rebekah + Michael

How did you meet?

Michael and I met through our mutual friend Kirsty. I had grown up with her through mother’s group and my mum is her godmother. Michael had gone through primary school and high school with her and they lived down the street from one another.

When did you know they were the one?

Our one-year anniversary really cemented it for me. We traveled to Fiji for a week together and it went so smoothly even with lots of getting lost, luggage difficulties, and illness. Being able to travel together and support each other through that uncertainty showed me we could get through anything.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He always put my well-being first
He is so enthusiastic and loyal to his loved ones
He is so goofy and sweet

Who proposed and how?

Michael proposed on a trip to the southern highlands. We had spent the day wine-tasting around Mittagong and had retired to our bnb for a picnic in the orchard with the gin and cheese we had collected along the way. He went inside to get a blanket and came out with the ring, asking me to stand before kneeling down and proposing. Shortly after we had the joy of bottle-feeding some of the local newborn lambs.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I originally went in to look at another MWL dress but when I tried on the Elsie flowy and my bridesmaids almost cried when I came out, I knew it was the one. It sparkled and flattered in all the right places.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The ceremony, we had our minister and our church band with us and the love and connection in that church was so overwhelming it was beautiful.

What were your favorite details?

We stayed in a beautiful house with our bridal party the night before and two days after the wedding. This connection and time with them was my favorite part of the whole week.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I hated this advice in the lead-up but it is so true, the day goes so fast, spend it how you want with the people you want to.

Any Standout vendors?

Our photographer and florist were the most incredible supports! From fluffing my dress before walking down the aisle to accommodating last-minute changes, they stayed positive, cool, calm, and collected.
