Rachael + Tim

Tim and I had the most incredible wedding day 10.10.20. Thank you for playing such a big part in my special day. You guys were amazing and so helpful right from the start. I had so many beautiful comments on my dress and how unique and beautiful it was. I loved it so so much!! It was super comfy, fit like a glove, and made me feel like a princess. Could not recommend you guys highly enough! Thank you for everything.

How did you meet?

We met on a night out, we had so many mutual friends but had never met.

I was out with my friends and Tim with his, not previously knowing each other prior to this night, we ran into each other at the end of the night and got talking.

When did you know they were the one?

The connection was immediate, after the first night of meeting, we went on a few dates and then became an inseparable couple as we found a love of adventures and outdoor activities.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Adventurous, devoted, thoughtful

Who proposed and how?

Tim and I were catching squid off the back of our boat when I snagged my line. Tim offered to put a new squid jig on for me while I went inside and got us some nibbles. When I came back outside my line was already in the water so I reeled it back in. When I wound it up, there was something caught on the end of my fishing line. As I took a closer look to get it off, I realised there was a RING tied to the end of my fishing line!! Tim got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most beautiful sunset in the background.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

Hershey (our chocolate labrador) was our ring bearer. We attached a GoPro to her harness and let it record the whole day from her point of view. Straight after the ceremony, she found her way to the dam and her white flower harness and collar came out all black and muddy! Luckily she didn’t go in beforehand with the rings on her neck!!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I tried MWL River on at my appointment with Bec at Made With Love – Sydney and instantly fell in love with the detail and how the dress perfectly fit my body shape. I then visited many other bridal shops and kept comparing it back to the MWL River. Nothing could compare so I made a second appointment to try MWL River on one last time just to be sure. I knew that I wanted a dress that I could have fun in on the day and not feel restricted. When I tried the dress on a second time I had the biggest smile on my face and just knew that MWL River was my perfect dream dress!!

What surprised you most at or about your wedding?

We had to scale our wedding right-back due to covid. We went from 150 guests to just having 35 people who were immediate family and our bridal party. As sad as it was that we couldn’t have all of our favorite people there to celebrate our special day, it was actually surprisingly nice to have it small and intimate and spend the day with our closest people.

What advice would you tell other brides?

If you don’t mind dried flowers I would highly recommend looking into this for your wedding!

Wedding flowers can be super expensive to only die not long afterward. We had all dried flowers for our wedding. I now have my bouquet in a beautiful vase on the coffee table at home which will last forever, and all the bridesmaids have done the same. We then gifted the dried table center arrangements to our parents and grandparents as a keepsake of our special day.

What was one thing you did differently for your wedding?

Because we had to scale our guests back due to COVID. We sent everyone a letter with personalized stubby holders and asked that everyone still have a drink for us on the day to help us celebrate. We received so many photo messages on our wedding day with family & friends having a drink for us wherever they were on the day with our wedding stubby holders that they received.

Because of COVID, we didn’t know if we were even going to be able to have a bridal party! For this reason I decided not to go with matching outfits and the brief to the bridesmaids was to “wear something floral” It actually turned out so nice!!
