Rach + Cory

THE GOWN

My gown was from Made With Love. I wanted something sleek and a little sexy. I didn’t want anything “trendy”, I wanted to be able to look back in years to come and still be totally in love with my gown. When I attended the appointments to try on gowns, I came armed with an inspo board, not even realizing had put 3 different images of my gown on it

I loved that it was so form-fitting and had a super low back with button details, it was simple but just sexy enough,

THE ACCESSORIES

For the ceremony, I wore a beautiful cathedral length veil from the amazing A.B. Ellie with organza flowers and opal accents. I then later changed for the reception into a stunning headpiece by the talented Maria Elena.

THE MORNING OF THE BIG DAY

I made sure to have some time just to myself to reflect on the day. I did a workout in the morning, and then the villa staff served breakfast to my room while I wrote a letter to Cory and to both of my bridesmaids. It was really beautiful to have some quiet personal time before all of the craziness.

Cory stayed in a room with all the guys and they spent the morning hanging by the pool before getting ready for the ceremony.

THE PLANNER

The team at Hitch’d was AMAZING! I was so happy to have them there, they did such an amazing job at making everything we envisioned a reality.

I wanted to be really involved in the design process, I had so many ideas I was all over the place! They really helped me narrow down my vision and just made sure everything ran smoothly. There are not enough positive things on this earth that I could even begin to say about Kira and her team, we could not have pulled off this wedding without them!

THE FLORALS

We absolutely loved the florals that Made and the team at Sandat Floral created for our wedding! They did such a great job making our vision come to life. I wanted the flowers to have a neutral colour pallet but I wanted more than just white. So we incorporated light peach and beige tones into the floral styling. I really wanted to incorporate pampas grass into it all to give it that magical boho feel.

They effortlessly worked with a beautiful combination of lush fresh flowers and dried pampas and palm leaves.

THE CEREMONY

I loved planning all of the beautiful little accents and details of the decor with Hitch’d. For the ceremony, we wanted to focus on flowers but also showcase the natural beauty of the venue with that amazing jungle-feel background. I also LOVED incorporating the big Bali umbrellas that were at the entrance of the aisle.

THE RECEPTION

During the reception is when I wanted to bring in more of the celestial elements and create a kind of midsummer nights dream. I focused a lot on lighting and florals to create a really romantic and dreamy vibe.

I knew I wanted to include a neon sign and was so happy that the Isle co. created something so personalised for us to fit the overall style so well.

During the reception, we wanted it to feel super intimate. We utilised the space by having one long banquet table for all of our guests to sit at. There were cascading Edison bulbs and beautiful star-shaped lanterns lighting the table.

The table was filled with beautiful floral arrangements, raw crystals and combinations of taper and pillar candles.

It was just so DREAMY!

We made sure to include an abundance of fairy lights throughout the reception area and had a beautifully styled teepee above the dance floor with hanging palm leaves and floral touches to bring the styling together seamlessly

THE FOOD & DRINKS

Since we only had 27 guests who all travelled such a long way to be there, we really wanted to spoil them with a feast they would never forget!

We had an amazing plated 4 course dinner by Bali Catering Company. We then later surprised everyone with late night pizzas!

We made sure that the bar was stocked with spicy cucumber margaritas, old fashioneds, and passion fruit mojitos along with lots of wine and of course Bintang.

THE PHOTOS

I found Joey on Instagram and instantly fell in love with all of his images. I was super picky with choosing a photographer and loved that Joey’s images looked so romantic but also editorial and fashion feel to them. Joey was awesome at not only capturing moments between me and Cory but also all the little details of the wedding.

THE FILM

Choosing a videographer was easy, Kira from Hitch’d had so many wonderful things to say about Alma, not only his work but also his fun and easy going personality. We knew we wanted someone like that to be with us throughout the wedding. We almost didn’t do a video but now are so glad we did, the whole night goes by so fast we are happy that we have that now to look back on for all the memories.

THE CAKE

Our wedding cake was by Butter Bali. We chose to have one layer of brown butter vanilla cake with sea salt caramel filling and vanilla frosting then a second layer of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. It was out of this world!

WEDDING FAVOURS

Nova Hissy from NH Illustration wrote each of our guest names on palm-sized rose quartz pieces. This was their place card but also doubled as their wedding favour.

Rose quartz represents unconditional love and emits energy that brings joy, warmth and emotional healing to those around it.

THE ENTERTAINMENT

DJ BTK was the absolute best! We had a VERY specific vibe when it came to the music and he just totally got it!

We wanted to have a modern disco/funk vibe with some 70s classics mixed in. We told DJ BTK that if it was a typical wedding song DO NOT play it! It was great because the younger guests and the older guests all loved it.

We also had the Bali water drummers which were a really fun surprise for all of our guests. They even pulled us up to drum with them!
