Priya + Damian

How did you meet?

Damian and I met at work, we were on the same team. Damian moved to another team and due to the rotational nature of my work, I ended up on that team too! We would always talk at work, and then he started flirting with me. Once Damian left for another job he asked me out.

When did you know they were the one?

We had a long discussion about what we valued in life, and our goals and shared our most vulnerable moments. We realised that life together was what we wanted

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He’s kind and caring
He’s funny and adventurous
He will always fight for me

Who proposed and how?

Damian proposed, at Garners Beach. It’s a small beach off a dirt road just before Mission Beach on the Cassowary Coast. It was only us there. Damian who pretended to be celebrating his new job, said he would open the champagne if I could open the picnic box to get the glasses out. When I opened the picnic box, it was filled with photos of us throughout our relationship. I turned around and he was on one knee.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I initially saw it on Instagram, and just loved the back detailing! I’ve never been one for a veil and I loved that this would be perfect for me

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Seeing my soon-to-be husband at the end of the aisle, walking towards him, and saying our vows to spend the rest of our lives together

What were your favorite details?

We had beautifully Australian natives along the pews.
Our reception was at NuNu restaurant, it was so beautiful with tropical fruits as part of the decorations, and lots of fairy lights throughout the palm trees which line the beach at Palm Cove

What advice would you tell other brides?

If possible try book things early, that way you can do little bits over time. Enjoy the day, it goes by so fast! Take a moment to just soak it all in with your partner and enjoy the love surrounding you both
