Pippa + Patrick

How did you meet?

We met the first night of freshers at university. I was in 1st year and 18 years old and Patrick was in his final year. He put a drinks mat in my mouth that night and I was horrified! Fast forward 3 months and we couldn’t stop noticing each other in the library. Then one day, he plucked up the courage and spoke to me on a night out.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew after around 3 weeks of dating. I had never felt that way about anybody before. When the time came for Patrick to leave university and the UK to head back to Ireland, he decided to stay. Then I absolutely knew even more he was the one. Leaving behind his family, friends & home for me.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Caring
Thoughtful
Gentleman

Who proposed and how?

Patrick proposed at The Galgorm in Northern Ireland. It took place outside in the grounds underneath a chandelier garden. He hired a photographer to pretend we were doing a promo shoot for the spa. I walked into the chandelier garden and sat on a bench was my favourite drink and a letter with a wax-sealed stamp. He read out the letter to me and then proposed. It was more than I could have ever hoped for.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Love Bridal Cheshire.
I fell in love with it immediately. It was only the 2nd dress I tried on and I knew it was the one. It was so comfortable and I knew I could last all day in it. But what I loved the most was the delicate shoulder bows, paired with the veil wings. It was so girly and so me! The sparkle in the dress was so dreamy and having it on top of the pebble underskirt made it ‘pop!’

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our Humanist wedding ceremony. It began at the top of the aisle, seeing Patrick wait for me at the bottom. Then the ceremony itself was so personalised to us and our journey together. It was amazing getting to share our experiences and little details with all of our family and friends. It was a celebration I’ll never forget.

What were your favourite details?

All things accessories to match my dress! My white porcelain flower headband, delicate Pearl necklace and earrings.

In the wedding, my favourite details were our 9 year picture journey up and hallway leading to the alter. Including family members who are not with us anymore. Also, our personalised card box & guestbook. It is something we will display in our house and look at forever.

I also loved the details of our favours for adults and children.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t sweat the small things! When planning a wedding, every minor detail can become a huge deal but on the day, you won’t notice. Trust that everything will go smoothly and don’t listen to your disaster dreams at night! (I had one every night for months).

Take a moment in the wedding to sit back and observe your guests with your new husband. It is a memory I will cherish forever.
