How did you meet?

My husband and I met my very first weekend after I moved to a new city. I was out with some girl friends celebrating a birthday. We walked into a bar and as I was walking to the bathroom he high-fived me. I told him that if he was going to give me a high-five, he should have a drink waiting on me when I got back… and he did! He asked me on our first date after that. The best part is that we found a bride and groom high-fiving to use as our cake topper!

When did you know they were the one?

The first time he took me to his family’s lake house to meet his entire family. I loved seeing the way he interacted with them and how much love he had for them. After that I knew he was so special and the one for me.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I first found Harper on Pinterest and thought she was stunning. After looking for a similar dress at multiple boutiques in my hometown of Columbus, I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop my dress search until I tried her on. So my Maid of Honor and I took a road trip to the only boutique in Ohio who had her- Hyde Park Bridal. As soon as I put on Harper I knew she was the one. I loved the way she hugged my curves, the deep V-back with the button details and THE TRAIN. She looked so beautiful in all my photos and I loved having a modern crepe gown with a traditional, gorgeous train.

Who proposed and how?

My husband, Justin, proposed to me. Early on in our relationship Justin invited me to Lake Erie to meet his family at their lake house. It was a wonderful weekend spent meeting family and getting to know the place where Justin spent his childhood summers. Since then the lake has always been a special place for both of us. A year later, on July 5th, the two of us were enjoying another hot summer day at the lake with his family. As we were getting ready for dinner, I announced that I would not be fixing my hair. His sister, Maggie, quickly informed me that that was not an option. Relenting, I got ready and met Justin for a pre-dinner walk. What I didn’t know was that Justin and his family had been working on a surprise proposal plan for months! As we walked down the beach I saw a beautiful set-up with flowers and paper lanterns waiting for us. Justin got down on one knee, pulled my engagement ring out of a paper lantern and proposed! It was a beautiful moment and afterwards he led me up to the cottage where his entire family was waiting for us with champagne. But he wasn’t out of surprises yet! The next day we drove into Cleveland where Justin had orchestrated another surprise party with 30+ of our friends to come and celebrate our engagement! It was a week I will never forget and every day I remember how lucky I am to be marrying a man who would plan such an extraordinary proposal for me.

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

We went to Barbados! It was a beautiful island and the trip was especially fun as it was my husband’s first time traveling to another country. We loved being in the water and spent multiple days on snorkeling excursions.
