Olivia + Rory

How did you meet?

We met 10 years ago at a mutual friends 21st

When did you know they were the one?

After spending a only a few months together and not making our relationship official, Rory left to go overseas on a yacht for an unknown period of time. He was only gone a couple weeks, not loving the experience and missing home and seemingly me too! He returned and we made it official after both realising how much we missed each other in such a short space of time.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Patient
Hardworking
Positivity

Who proposed and how?

It was kind of mutual. We designed the ring together and even really decided on the day we were going to get engaged. We’d be travelling Australia and had flown home for a friends wedding so we were amongst family and friends. We were due to return to travelling and decided to do it while home. He took me to our block of land where we intend to build and start our life together. Got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Wine in hand. Perfect!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

It was only the second boutique I went into. The Melbourne, Carnegie store. I picked out about 5 dresses and instantly loved Archie.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Rory and I walking each other down the aisle to a beautiful song played by his brother.
“Acoustic version of simply the best”

What were your favourite details?

It had a festival feel to it. So festoon lighting, stretch tents and food vans.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t get too stressed about it all. Everyone enjoys their day regardless of the vision you had in your mind and whether you were able to pull it off.
