Nikki + Mark

How did you meet?

We meet through a mutual friend (who was the best man) back in 2014. We were both on different paths at the time until 2019 ours lined up.

When did you know they were the one?

Back when I met Mark I always knew he was a genuine guy. But it wasn’t until we started to get to know each other on a more intimate/serious level that I found myself falling hard and fast. I knew that I wanted children and that’s all I’ve ever been sure on, and so did he. That was the tick right there!! We have a beautiful daughter named Elle.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Kind, caring and always selfless.

Who proposed and how?

Mark popped the question at the beach near our home, we had always gone there for beautiful sunsets and walks. So it wasn’t unusual for him to ask me to go for a walk. We did, with our dog Ned and new baby Elle, the beach to ourselves. He dropped his knee and asked me to marry him.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Confetti, Hobart TAS. I went in with only 10 weeks to our day after rushing to purchase a dress I didn’t love from another designer back in 2021. So I’d gotten sized up and I was going to get Louie Fitted, I loved it but I was still a bit self conscious of my postpartum body. But I’d seen Summer hanging up just delivered. And I had been eyeing her off on your Instagram. I knew I was going to be a MWL bride! So I asked to try it on. LOVED it! I couldn’t believe it, complete opposite of what I had in my mind. I even got the split too, I was obsessed!! I didn’t have to worry about anything at all I felt so confident.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Honestly, our day was the best but I’d have to say seeing all our loved ones so happy for us. It was one very loved up day with people from near and far. Having our daughter be apart of our day was beautiful.

What were your favourite details?

The reception set up, it was beautiful!! From our signage to the single stem roses. We had beautiful gold chargers with oatmeal napkins, it all tied in beautifully with our timeless theme.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Even small mishaps happen, just go with it, don’t stew on the little things. No one but you notice it anyways.
Also make sure your veil is attached in your hair properly, my beautiful Holly veil flew out (nearly twice) walking down the aisle.
This one is funny, but maybe wear your lingerie prior? (Like trial them?) My knickers strap broke and I had to put them in my husbands pocket for the rest of the night.
Also try and sneak into your reception room to view it before guests are seated. It’s so beautiful and we loved being able to do that and take 10 to ourselves before we went back out to be introduced in.

Any standout vendors?

Khyla from Maple & Mist, goodness she is incredible with her work! Our videographer was amazing. We are obsessed with our sneak peek and can’t wait for the rest!
Kat from The Little Event Boutique, she’s amazing with what she can do with signage. She got it perfect!! No problem was ever too big for her. Even shuffling things around last minute.
Our venue, was everything and more! We hadn’t been there before we booked as we’re interstate. The girls coordinating are so wonderful! Set up everything so perfectly!
