Natalia + Andrew

How did you meet?

We met online, through Bumble, we had out first date and that was it, for a good few months we stayed as friends, very good friends. Neither of us was ready to commit but we really enjoyed each others company so that’s why the friendship remained, until we could no longer hold in the real feelings for each other. 5 years and counting.

When did you know they were the one?

One year after we got together, we went through a very hard moment, not in the relationship, just a personal thing, and for of us (we talked about it later on) giving up on the relationship was never an option. We helped and supported each other through it and our relationship only grew stronger from then.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He’s incredibly funny, hard working and has the biggest heart

Who proposed and how?

He proposed after 3 years.
April 18th 2021, it was a Sunday morning and we were going for a long walk from on beach, where we live, to another one. It was 6am and he pretended to be ill and ran to the sand, I thought he was going to be sick and got even a bit annoyed haha. I ran after him and when I got there he kneeled down and proposed. I had no idea. The beach was fully empty except for one surfer who started clapping from the ocean when we hugged each other. It was a vey beautiful moment.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I was looking for something simple and timeless. When I went to MWL shop, it was my second store of the day and I had already liked another dress from a different shop, until I tried on Lucy V2. It was the third MWL dress I tried and my best friend was with me, she was vet teary when she saw it (she saw before me). When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw myself as I bride and knew that was the dress.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Hard to choose but I’d say the ceremony being bilingual (Portuguese and English) so no one would feel left out.

What advice would you tell other brides?

1- Enjoy the planning: it’s hard work but you will miss it once it’s over.
2- Relax and enjoy your day: You planned everything, now it’s time to enjoy it.
3- Leave the photos and videos to the professionals at the ceremony – trust me, you want to walk down the aisle and see the faces of your guests, not the back of their phones.
4- Eat – refer to number 2 – you organized such an amazing menu, you have to savor it too.
