How did you meet?

At work (McDonald’s) where we were both employees – we now own our own McDonald’s together!

When did you know they were the one?

After a very short time of seeing him I just knew – it was like I relaxed every time I was around him (and I’m a very anxious person). It sounds cliche but it felt like we were soulmates from the beginning and we compliment each other perfectly.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Deeply caring, silly, driven

Who proposed and how?

Michael proposed at Mooloolaba beach where we used to go a lot – I had NO idea. He had to run back to the car to get the ring and i still was none the wiser! When he came back and got on one knee I thought he was just being sweet then I realised what was actually happening and I couldn’t believe it!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

On your Instagram, I loved the capped sleeves and that it was a little bit different to other dresses I had seen – and the fact that it was called ‘Darcy’ and that would be my new name! When I went dress shopping everyone said I wouldn’t end up liking the dress I thought I wanted but as soon as I put it on I knew and so did my bridesmaids! It was meant to be.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Kissing my new husband for the first time (closely followed by our slow dance AFTER the first dance where all our guests joined in slow dancing and sang along to Iris – Googoo dolls)

What were your favourite details?

Our flowers, the fireworks and cheeseburger delivery at the end of the night.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Enjoy it all as much as possible, take it all in and spend some one on one with your new spouse!

All of them were literally incredible!!
Our celebrant Erinwoodhallcelebrant was my high school teacher and an absolutely AMAZING celebrant
Mears productions on videography and he felt like our best friend following us around all day
Steve Carlyle on entertainment – our dance floor was a highlight! The flowers, the photography, the stationary (Esther rose)THE CAKE (cakehousebykatrina) just all an absolute dream to work with and created our literal fairytale wedding.
