How did you meet?

Tinder!
I was single for 3 years and my friends put me onto Tinder. Within two weeks I met Richard. Perfect timing.

When did you know they were the one?

Very early on. We said we loved each other 3 months in. Everything with Richard has gone so smoothly and lovingly, we’ve easily transitioned from one stage in our relationship to the next. I feel that I don’t remember an exact moment that I realised he was the one because maybe I always knew.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His caring and loving nature
His selflessness
His calmness

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I’d been following MWL for a while and loved the feminine designs. I always wanted a long sleeve lace dress, however when I tried those types of styles on, they just swallowed me up. After trying on many styles, the lovely Rose at the Gold Coast store suggested I try on a new dress that had just come in. When she first showed me, I thought there wasn’t much of it! I’m not one to show a lot of skin so I was very hesitant, however with advise from many women, I tried on as many styles as I could. Low and behold, when I put on the SIENNA dress, wow! It fit like a glove and showed off my curves in all the right places, something which I knew Richard would appreciate! I felt like I wore it, not the other way around, not to mention I felt beautiful. It was simple yet had just the right amount of lace and detail. My sister’s reaction really sold it for me, she started crying and I knew it was the one.

Who proposed and how?

Richard proposed.

2 years into our relationship we took a 3 week trip to Europe. One of the places we went to was Iceland. He organised a special outing for us, but I had no idea what it was, I thought it would just be a belated anniversary gift. On the morning of the big day, he woke up and sprung out of bed, not the usual Richard. All he said to me was wear something nice, you’ll want to take photos. He didn’t really say too much and seemed a little distracted. However I thought nothing of it! We got in the taxi to head to our destination, I heard the driver mention the airport, so I thought, Oh ok it must be a scenic helicopter ride, and it was! We took a flight over some amazing scenery and ended up landing on a volcanic crater. It was beyond beautiful, perfect weather and 360 degree view that seemed endless. We walked up to the highest point and my friend and her husband who came with us, asked if we wanted to get a picture together. As we stood next to each other, I said to Richard that I didn’t want the ugly bright yellow go-pro bag in the photo, he said no I need it, I said no you don’t, he said, no really I need it, I have something to ask you. I knew exactly what was about to happen. I immediately burst into raw emotional happy tears. He kept it short and sweet, and I instantly said yes! I was crying so heavily I didn’t even see what the ring looked like! It was honestly so perfect. He later told me that once I talked about how romantic it would be to be proposed to under the northern lights in Iceland, something I’d long forgotten about. He took Iceland and ran with it, he’s a good listener!
