Meryl + Jordan

How did you meet?

Like most couples right now, Jordan and I met online. The funny thing is, we had about a million mutual friends. It was so fun uncovering all the ways our lives have overlapped this whole time!

When did you know they were the one?

Jordan said he know during our first text conversation. I think I knew on our first date – he was telling me he gets told he looks like the actor from Shazam and I was zoned out just thinking about how right this felt. After that date, he asked me if I’d like to hang out again. I said yes and he said, “How about breakfast tomorrow?” And then we never stopped hanging out.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His sense of humor – I’ve never laughed harder with anyone in my life.

He has an excitement to share the things he loves. It’s one of my favorite things. He likes to make sure everyone experiences life as fully as he has. It’s beautiful!

He is one of the most talented people I know. The number of random skills he’s just picked up and become amazing at blows my mind.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed to me on a mountaintop in northern Italy right before Christmas. It was breathtaking, emotional, magical… and honestly very cold.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I saw my dress on Made with Love Instagram before I even knew Jordan. I was that girl who saved wedding things since the day Pinterest was created. I tried it on at Lovely Bride in Philly and knew immediately! The sleeves are so unique and wowed everyone on the wedding day – most importantly my husband!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

It’s so hard to pick. Our ceremony was very emotional and I loved every bit of it. However, we had this really special moment before the entry to the reception where we snuck away and sat on a bench in the distance and watched all our guests see the tent for the first time right after we were officially married. It was so special to see all the people we love experiencing the day we spent so much time and thoughtfulness putting together.

What were your favorite details?

We had so many details! Our engagement shoot featured a bike that made its way into every detail of our wedding. We went with a color-blocking theme that really made the day pop – our hand fans placed on every sear featured our little bike logo and name, our cake topper was a wire version of us from the Save the date. Our flowers were out of this world. Our signature cocktail was the drink we sipped on our engagement trip to Italy. It was so fun taking little parts of our love story and fitting them into our day. We were blown away by how it all came together.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Take a deep breath – it’s normal to be stressed and it’s okay to not always be over the moon. Planning a wedding is hard work. Remember what brought you here – love!
