Megan + Fraser

How did you meet?

We met on Tinder – Modern day romance. But I was automatically so attracted to Fraser, I knew I had to meet him in person since the photos weren’t enough. We texted for a few days then met in person over a drink. During our first date I found out he knew some friends I went to high school with and we bonded over our love of athletics and food. The last 4 years have been the best of our lives.

When did you know they were the one?

I think we both knew early on we were going to be spending forever together. I remember just having this calm around him. I felt no pressure. Things came easy. I think he initially thought I was crazy (but like a good crazy)…I’ve got a type double AA personality, whereas Fraser is probably the most laid back person I know. We just fit into each other’s lives right away, without really trying. We bought a house together after a year together and never looked back.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner

I love his loyalty, his commitment and his realistic mindset. He was so committed to playing football for years in university, now he’s channelled his energy into developing his career. He keeps me grounded, not letting me live in a dream world. And most of all he loves to be around his friends and family. With all this, I know he’s going to make the best long term partner and father.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I found my MWL Riley dress at The Modern Bride in Guelph, Ontario. This boutique is INSANE. Such a beautifully curated selection of dresses, in a gorgeous clean, modern, white space. I think what I loved most about the dress was that it felt simple in its silhouette but was so detailed and intricate when you looked at the material. I knew that this fabric and the lace design would pop in photos. When the stylist added the wings I was immediately sold. Absolutely loved it.

Who proposed and how?

Frase and I travelled to Iceland in September 2018. We took a red eye from Toronto and landed around 5am Icelandic time. After driving for another 4 hours we found ourselves in Holmavik, a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere. We went for our first Iceland hike, and with a rainbow as the backdrop, Frase proposed while I was standing on a rock overlooking the town. He was so nervous in the minutes leading up to the proposal I was wondering if the lack of sleep was making him loopy! He was following so close behind me as we hiked up the hill….I just kept thinking “how weird is this”. Then he completely surprised me when he got down on one knee. Such an exciting way to start our trip.

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

We decided to travel down through Italy after our wedding in Austria. I had been saving the country of Italy for my honeymoon trip ever since I was little.
In actuality, I would say that our honeymoon started a week before our wedding. We had about 15 of our bridesmaids, groomsmen and family come with us to Budapest, then Salzburg. We had so many great nights together leading up to the wedding it felt like a huge fam/friend vacay. After our wedding Fraser and I travelled alone to Venice, Parma, Florence and Positano. What a time!!! Three amazing weeks we will never ever forget.
