Marissa + Todd

How did you meet?

We were formally introduced at Randwick Racecourse in 2015. After 5 months of back-and-forth messaging and a handful of dates, he asked in to be his girlfriend.
We’ve been inseparable ever since.

When did you know they were the one?

Early on in our relationship, I knew he was the one, his genuine, honest, and royal traits really stood out for me.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His beautiful orange sunset hair
His kind gentle and loyal soul
His love for the outdoors, camping, by the beach, and fishing.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed on his fishing boat in 2021 in the middle of Pittwater, with our little dog. It was a surprise proposal. As I was reapplying my sunscreen, he suddenly went down on one knee and popped the big question with a beautiful ring. I said yes of course!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Well initially when I saw my dress online I instantly fell in love, and when I went into Made with Love Bridal boutique in St Ives, it was a very easy choice- my beautiful Elsie fitted dress was the one!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our ceremony- when I officially married the love of my life along with our nearest and dearest.
Also, our private time alone by the beach with our photographer was great for some one on one time.
And of course, dancing the night away with our friends and family.

What were your favorite details?

My beautiful friend styled and created all our florals for our day, the colors were all my favorite and they looked absolutely beautiful.
My husband’s Nan made our beautiful wedding cake, this was very special.
I also had a lot of fun creating our first dance which had a surprise twist- starting slow and becoming a fast pace dance song- this was hilarious and fun!

What advice would you tell other brides?

1. Try to enjoy the process as much as you can. From planning to getting ready on the day. I wish I could relive my day again! It really was amazing.
2. Stick to a budget that doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable. Give yourself time to plan and compare prices and look at all the different options. Grab your friends or family and see what you can create yourself!
3. Allow plenty of time for getting ready and photography- you don’t want to be rushing to get out the door!
