How did you meet?

We met in college at the University of Michigan. We were set up by a mutual friend for tridelta date party. Turns out the night didn’t go really well and we didn’t reconnect until several months later!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one when we took our first road trip together and “Picture” came on. He let me be Kid Rock because I couldn’t hit Sheryl Crow’s high notes.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His humor (even though I tell him he’s not that funny), his cooking, and his ability to take care of everyone around him.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed while we were on a trip to Mexico. He asked me to go for a walk on the beach (he hates walks). As we started walking, the beach was covered in piles and piles of seaweed. He ended up cutting our walk short and proposing on a bridge close by instead of on the beach as planned!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at Lovely Bride in Tribeca. It was my first dress appointment and the first dress I tried on! I put it on and was immediately in love. I tried on several dresses after but nothing compared. I handed over the credit card and canceled all of the other dress appointments I had scheduled!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment for me was walking through the reception space before dinner. It was the first quiet moment we had to ourselves and it was so magical to see our vision brought to life and to fully let it sink in that we were married.

What were your favourite details?

Our wedding welcome bags! I wanted them to represent my home state where I grew up, so I incorporated the infamous “Welcome to Colorado” sign and used all products made in the state of Colorado.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Everyone is going to have opinions, but ultimately it’s your day! All that matters is what makes you and your future partner happy. Stick to your guns, because it will truly be the best day of your life!

Any standout vendors?

My wedding coordinator Marina Damon from Leigh and Co. Events made the last few weeks leading up to the wedding a breeze. I also can’t thank The Broadmoor staff enough for their dedication in making this such an amazing event!
