Marianna + Jack

How did you meet?

We met at a mutal friend’s new years eve party. It was quite surprising that we had never crossed paths before that night given we actually knew a lot of the same people for years before.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one when we would take it in turns to organise fun dates for eachother and both of us would always try to out do the previous one.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His motivation, ambition…and cheeks 🙂

Who proposed and how?

Jack proposed at the top of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. Little did I know he was planning to propose on a trip we had planned to Thailand, but that kept getting cancelled and postponed due to covid, so Jack decided to plan a roadtrip for us around Scotland where the pandemic couldn’t get in his way.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Made With Love dresses were the only dresses I was interested in trying on. I had my eye on one in particular, so booked an appointment at the London boutique in Bermondsey. Unfortunately, it didn’t look as good as I had hoped, but then the last dress I tried on instantly felt different to all the others. I loved the shape and fit, but what made it stand out from everything else was the unique embroidery that was unlike anything I’d seen before. I tried on some veils too, but I just didn’t feel myself in them, so when I found the chiffon wings I knew they were a must have as well!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

There are too many incredible moments to pick just one. I think overall what made the day extra special was how all our guests got involved with every aspect of our Greek and English fusion wedding. Oh and when Jack called me by my middle name during the ceremony and everyone broke out into laughter. When it was my turn I called him by his middle name too and it just took the seriousness out of the formalities and had everyone laughing together.

What were your favourite details?

I adored the rustic glamour of our Victorian venue and that my godmother was able to perform our legal ceremony. I also asked our florist to create a beautiful floral tree display so that we could hang small photographs of all our loved ones who were no longer with us, so that they could still be a part of our special day.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would tell other brides to never feel pressured to conform to what they think a wedding should be or what they think others are expecting. Instead focus on making the day unique to them and their partner. Everyone who attends is there for you both as a couple and so long as you are having a great time, they will be too!
