Madison + Evan

How did you meet?

We met at St. Lawrence University at a friend’s dorm party and became great friends but parted separate ways. We never made it official until he crashed Madison’s 25th birthday party in Boston & started to reconnect.

When did you know they were the one?

On our first trip away together, when the waitress brought garlic knots to the table we both stared at each other and knew we were in love.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Thoughtful
Caring
Attentive

Who proposed and how?

Evan proposed to Madison. For my 30th birthday, my mom planned a surprise trip to Marco Island, FL for me (my favorite). I thought the surprise was for both of us, but Evan was in on it the whole time despite being a very convincing actor to the contrary. My mom kept the surprises coming with notes to open at varying points throughout the trip. The last note told me to pack flip flops for dinner and what really happened was we went to my favorite beach, he went to hand me a gift from my mom and said but before that, I have to do this and proposed. I accidentally documented the entire build-up on Instagram as I genuinely had no idea it was coming. People were hooked on this story and all thought I had to have known but the surprise made it that much sweeter.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I found Made With Love on Instagram and fell in love with the iconic back and beautiful silhouettes. I went to Vows Bridal and tried on several and when we put on Remi, my mom and I looked at each other and teared up!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

We are huge fried and junk food lovers. We had our favorite college late-night food (pizza rolls) driven up by the local pizza shop (Sergi’s). We were so happy to taste a bit of our past and share it with friends and family.

What were your favorite details?

The cold sparklers were amazing. Every time something felt magical it got even more magical when the sparklers went off. Again, we’re big junk food lovers so the late-night food was supreme. Milk and cookies, “fat bags” aka the pizza rolls, fries, donut holes. You name it!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Soak it in & let yourself enjoy. No one knows what you know and you have so much excitement ahead of you.

I have never been more nervous and excited at the same time. The best part is reliving it – it gets better everytime I think about it.
