Madeline + Elias

How did you meet?

Elias and I met in college at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign 8 years ago at his fraternity. I was not interested in getting to know any boys at that time. Fast forward 6 months later and I saw Elias dancing at an event and knew I wanted to get to know him more. 7 years later we have been inseparable building our lives in Chicago.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Elias was the one after spending three weeks together barely leaving each other sides. We would call in sick to our internships to spend all of our time together.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

– Personality
– Humor
– Dance moves

Who proposed and how?

Elias proposed in May 2020 when we moved into our new apartment together. He came home with the best housewarming gift and proposed in our new kitchen in Chicago!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress when Elias’ mom showed me a photo of the MWL Archie on Instagram. The next day I located a MWL retailer and made the appointment! I knew it was the dress within 2 minutes of putting it on, I bought the dress on the spot and never looked back. I think our associate thought I was crazy for making just a fast decision. When you know, you know!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment was seeing all of our friends and family all together when we made our entrance to the reception. Having our people in our favorite place felt like a true fairytale. We have never felt more loved having over 100 people fly across the world to celebrate our love.

What were your favourite details?

The venues, decor, music, and overall vibes from our family and friends!

What advice would you tell other brides?

It will all work out! When you’re in the moment nothing matters other than your love for your partner. Don’t sweat the small stuff!
