Maddison + Luke

How did you meet?

Luke and I met at school. We actually went through school together from Kindergarten until year 12 but didn’t really start talking until year 7, when he asked me out and I turned him down. Fast forward to year 11 we became friends again and then started dating at the end of year 12.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew pretty early on because we had built up a solid friendship before we started dating which I think is so important for a relationship. He was my best friend back when I was 17 and he still is my best friend today.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is constantly trying to make me laugh especially if he knows I’m upset or having a bad day. Plus he helps calm me down if I’m ever overwhelmed.

Luke has a very carefree attitude, always going with the flow and he gets along with everyone. He’s so easy to talk to.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

The Sydney Made With Love boutique. As soon as I put the Billie on I felt so comfortable and confident wearing it. It was extremely flattering on and as soon as I saw my mum and mother in laws face as I came out of the change room I knew it was the dress for me. They loved it just as much as I did.

Who proposed and how?

Luke proposed to me in December 2017. We had recently bought our first block of land together which we went to look at one day. When we arrived it was covered in rose petals and “Will you marry me?” was written on the ground in pebbles.
