How did you meet?
We met through our local surf club where we were both members at the time. Friends for a couple of years before we ‘noticed’ each other.
How did you know they were the one?
I think for both of us it was pretty soon into our relationship. Probably because we already knew and liked each other it was a natural thing for us.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
His kindness is a standout, along with his humour, and ‘can do’ anything skills.
Who proposed and how?Â
He proposed on Christmas day in front of my whole family. It was at the end of secret Santa so lots of laughs and then he popped the question. A little thought from everyone it was a game until it sunk in it was real and then it was all cheers and love.
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
The ceremony.
My 3 children walk down the aisle with me.
We had the wedding at my parents holiday house and had spent months preparing the gardens. It rained in the morning and we thought we would have to move inside, but the rain held off and we had the ceremony in the gardens amongst our friends and family.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
It took me a little while to find Made With Love but when I did Penny caught my eye as soon as we arrived. I tried a couple of other dresses I had seen because at that time Penny was brand new and not on the website. But once I tried her on there was no doubt. Being a mature bride I wanted something a little different but still elegant that gave me a lovely shape. The lace on Penny is beautiful.
What were your favourite details?
My dress, family, the gardens, the fabulous decorations by my amazing friends, and our caterers. Being glammed up for the day was very special.
What advice would you tell other brides?
It goes so fast so enjoy the day, and don’t worry about the little things. If something isn’t quite right its only you that will know – to everyone else it will be beautiful. Let friends help you – they are invaluable.
