Leisha + Blake

How did you meet?

We both grew up and met in Esperance, WA.

When did you know they were the one?

I always had a feeling I wanted to marry Blake but travelling around the world and the unconditional support he showed me during hard times reassured me he would be the one.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His attention to detail, his cheeky adventurous personality and how handsome he is.

Who proposed and how?

Blake proposed to me while we were on a family holiday in Exmouth, WA with my parents and his parents. We were on the boat, at sunset, watching the whales jumping out of the water. He asked for a sunset photo at the front of the boat, then much to my surprise he got down on one knee. He gave a beautiful speech, asked me to marry him and then the champagne and celebrations begun!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I first saw MWL dresses on Instagram and fell in love with the styles.
My appointment was at Brides by Design in Mount Lawley. Jack was one of the first dresses I tried on and one of the first dresses out of the whole wedding dress shopping experience that I could see my self getting married in. I fell in love with Jack instantly and I said to my sister as soon as I walked out “Jack is coming home with me”!! I loved features on Archie and Beau which I had added to Jack. I loved the material of the skirt with added buttons to zip line to give more shape to my booty. I loved the square neck line at the front and V at the back with the beautiful lace detailing. I felt my dress is timeless, flattering and sexy.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Blake and I doing our first dance. We had so much fun dancing, singing and moving around the dance floor together. Our dance was to ‘LOVE’ by Chvrches, Like a Version. We had dance lessons and did a lot of practice. We actually changed a few moves the day before the wedding and forgot to do a practice in my dress, because of how fitted my dress was I was worried I wouldn’t have been able to do some of the steps. We absolutely NAILED the dance, the lift and twirls, it was so much fun!!

What were your favourite details?

We had a wedding guest colour dress code – pastels and light colours. Everyone looked absolutely stunning together. Which then looked beautiful with the colour choice of flowers – green and white in white vases on wine barrels.

What advice would you tell other brides?

You won’t be a guest at your own wedding to take the time to look around and take it all in. Get photographers and guests to take lots of photos, you won’t regret having too many photos but you’ll regret missing details and not seeing items you had planned and styled.
