Leah + Shawn

How did you meet?

As most epic love story’s go, it all started when Leah was a waitress during college and Shawn came in for a drink. As Shawn likes to say “shoot your shot” and that he did. He asked for her number and the rest is history…

When did you know they were the one?

On one of the first dates Shawn showed me a trick for movie popcorn butter (I am obsessed with popcorn), I thought I was falling in love before that but then I realizes “wow I never want to live without this person”.

Who proposed and how?

July 1, 2022 (after many months of Leah *lightly* hinting – perhaps strongly nudging for a ring) Shawn planned the best surprise she could have imagined and had the whole family involved. Leah had thought she set up family photo’s for Shawn’s parents at Pillitteri Estates Winery. It was decided everyone was to wear white, Leah did mention “what a great day it would be to propose” but Shawn consistently shut that down, offering elaborate excuses on why it would not be happening. *Leah disappointed* arrived at the winery, but Shawn’s family was nowhere to be found. Many explanations, such as Derek’s fire call and texts gone unanswered, Shawn and Leah continued on a tour of the winery, eventually entering a private wine cellar with flowers and champagne. In that moment, looking at Shawn, Leah knew this was the moment she was waiting for. Greeted by family and friends (and a great party) afterwards, calling it the perfect day just doesn’t seem to do it justice.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I live in Canada, I knew from the start of my search I loved the MWL line and wanted my dress to be full of sparkles. I actually went into the salon with another one of your dresses in mind but then knew as soon as I tried on Lola it was the one, it fit me like a glove and I never wanted to take it off!! I didn’t try on another dress after that, I knew right away it was what i always dreamt of for my wedding day – sexy but classy and unique.

I also wore the Holly veil.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our first look and private vows was the best moment for me. I am so happy we did this before our ceremony, it felt like our own private wedding – a moment just for us – truly a feeling I will never forget. Pure love and happiness.
