Lauren + Tyler

How did you meet?

Tyler and I knew of each other as we both grew up in Nelson Bay, however we first officially met at a music festival in Sydney. We connected straight away after recognising each other and ended up spending the rest of the night watching the music acts together. We were both at Uni at the time, and after a few coffee/sushi dates, the rest is history! I definitely found myself spending extra time ‘studying’ on Uni campus knowing that I might have run into him haha!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Tyler was the one early on, because I felt like we connected straight away, many of our values/beliefs aligned, I could be my total self around him, and we had so much fun together from day one! However, it was when I was on a family trip in America to celebrate a cousins wedding, having the time of my life, that I realised just how much I loved Tyler as I missed him so much it physically hurt!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?-

Tyler is a constant ball of positivity. He rarely, if ever has ‘down days’! He will constantly remind me that we have no reason in this world to be unhappy as we have such wonderful lives together. Tyler has the ‘gift of the gab’ and can hold a conversation with absolutely anybody. On top of that he is romantic, caring, loving and thoughtful and I couldn’t have chosen a better life partner.

Who proposed and how?

Tyler proposed at Treetops restaurant in Koh Samui Thailand, in August 2019. We had our own tree house to eat a beautiful dinner in whilst watching the sunset – it was very romantic! Our friends (and Laura – bridesmaid/Dart – groomsman) were in Thailand with us & met us for a cocktail later in the night.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

The Sydney MWL boutique was one of the first bridal stores that I visited. I LOVED Harlow from the moment I tried it on. As I had only just started dress shopping I visited a few other stores after this, however I kept coming back to Harlow. On my 2nd visit to the boutique I tried it on again and was instantly sold. The waist belt is one of my favourite details about the dress & in the light it sparkled! I also love the low back and 3D lace detail. I received so many compliments on my wedding day & I only wish I could wear it again!!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

When we were saying our personal vows to each other during the ceremony it felt like it was only the 2 of us standing there & was so special. However, I think the funnest part of the day was the dance floor, as once it started it didn’t stop all night!

What were your favourite details?

I loved our ceremony set up. We had an outdoor chapel structure arbour and flowers stands in front of a beautiful mountain backdrop. It was the perfect setting for us to tie the knot!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Use vendors that you know/trust wherever you can! We had a couple vendors fall through as our day approached who had been booked in for months! If you use businesses/people you trust you are much less likely to experience this stress. Also, try to relax & enjoy the day, as like everyone says, it’s over before you know it! We had a pre wedding dinner & a recovery brunch and the weekend still flew by.
