How did you meet?

My sister in law and I worked in a restaurant together and she had mentioned that she thought I was the only person that could “keep up” with her brother and that we should go out on a date. We met up for a lunch date since I had to work that evening and we had the best first date ever. I even tried getting someone to cover my shift so we could spend more time together! I couldn’t but he decided to come sit in my section that evening. We’ve been together ever since, which was almost 8 years ago (two of which were long distance).

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one almost instantly. I knew right away that he was different from any other person I had met and that I needed to keep him in my life. But the moment I knew he was the one was during our first trip together in New Orleans. We had the most incredible time and got to explore what would become the city we got married in.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His laugh, the way he makes everything more fun and his kind heart that he tries to mask with sarcasm and wit (the only way I’d have it).

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at Lovely Bride in NYC. It was the first dress I tried on at the very first stop that day. I saw the fabric while I was sifting through all the beautiful dresses and knew I had to try it on. I knew the moment it was on that that was the dress. It was exactly what I had hoped for and loved how unique the fabric was. I knew for sure it was the one when I saw my mother, mother in law and sister in law’s faces.

Who proposed and how?

Jay asked me to marry him in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, our home town, under the Christmas lights. As we approached the park, I noticed a violinist and guitarist played Something by the Beatles (our favorite band). Once they finished, “pedestrians” got up off the benches in the park and stared singing Can’t Help Falling in Love With You. He danced me around and then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. After I said yes, they began to sing Smooth by one of our new favorite bands, Lake Street Dive so we could dance and celebrate. He hired a photographer and videographer to make sure that not a single moment was missed.  After, I was told we were going to dinner but I was instead brought to a restaurant with all my closest friends and family there to surprise me, including my best friend who he flew in from Ohio. There was a jazz trio, food, drinks, and a beautiful cake. It was perfect.

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

We haven’t had the opportunity to go on a honeymoon yet. My husband is in the Army and we weren’t sure where we were going to be stationed shortly after the wedding but we leave August 23rd for Greece!!
