Kirsty + Jack

How did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend first (one of my bridesmaids) one day and then a few months later we matched on Tinder.

When did you know they were the one?

I don’t think there was a particular moment that I can reflect on but it just always felt easy and right. We both feel in-love quickly and never envisioned our futures without each other.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His lush locks, his kind heart and his infectious happiness.

Who proposed and how?

Jack did! We went for a nature walk after work (I really didn’t feel like walking) and he surprised me with a ring, flowers and my favourite wine when we stopped to get a polaroid pic which turned out hilarious! Caught us mid hug as I bawled my eyes out!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

So many wonderful parts, but getting married in the reserve behind my brother/sister in laws house where we spend a lot of time with our niece and nephew, made the experience even more special. We also wrote everyone at our wedding an individual messages on their name card. It was so lovely throughout the night people telling us how much they appreciated our words and their reactions.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

About 18months before I was even engaged, I saw it on Instagram. I always knew it was the dress for me! It was the first and last dress I tried on at MWL and there was no doubt in my mind that it was the one!

What surprised you most at or about your wedding?

We had Karaoke to combat the no dancing. We thought not many people used it but everyone loved it, everyone had to race to the front to be able to sing a song. It was a lot of fun and something so so different for a wedding!

What advice would you tell other brides?

You (sometimes) only get engaged/married once. I did not want to look back on my engagement as a stressful time (we even had to deal with postponing because of covid). I tried to be as prepared as possible and ask for help whenever I needed so I could enjoy my time being engaged.

What was one thing you did differently for your wedding?

To be honest, I wouldn’t change a thing. It ended up being more of a rollercoaster than first anticipated but it also helped us grow individually and as a couple. We built so much resilience and truly supported each other through a pretty tough year. I am so thankful for my husband, I really couldn’t have planned our wedding without all his love, support, opinions and help.
