Kera + Kallan

How did you meet?

We met when we were 17 years old at a local bands night, but found out later that we actually went to the same Kindy (preschool), played hockey against each other in school and there is even a photo of us together at a 5th birthday party!

How did you know they were the one?

I don’t think there was just one moment, we have been together since we were teenagers and our love has changed and grown over the years.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His humour, we honestly have the best laughing fits and banter.
How open he is to change – he will listen to everything before making his mind up about something.
His kindness and generosity with his time – he will sit with our parents and talk to them, drop everything to help them or to listen.

Who proposed and how?

He did, when we were over in Europe in 2018. I always laugh about this because, we had just been on this amazing night river cruise in Amsterdam and Amsterdam is such a beautiful city he could have literally asked me anywhere. But he was so nervous he didn’t and ended up just blurting out in the hotel room as we were going to sleep. Of course I said yes and it became this ongoing joke for the rest of our trip that he could have asked me in some of the most romantic places, so he asked me 3 times in the end. Once in the hotel room in Amsterdam, once at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland and then a third time he got one knee at Blarney Castle in Ireland.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

We did a first look before our ceremony and that was my favourite part. Neither of us like public speaking, so we decided to do our vows privately and it turned out perfect.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had been looking at a few MWL dresses online but as soon as I tried on Harlie with Tulle Skirt at the Boutique shop in Adelaide I was absolutely in love.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t stress over the small things, the day goes so fast, take a few deep breaths, take it all in and let the day flow. There are that many people helping you it will work itself out.

What was one thing you did differently for your wedding?

We did a first look and private vows, we also had our wedding party photo’s done before the ceremony. This allowed us time after the ceremony to relax and mingle with our guests and then go off for some more private photos with just the two of us.

I also had a couples Astrology done up by Sister’s Village which was spot on for us – so I had It blown up onto a canvas and placed on our gift table!
