Kenzie + Karson

How did you meet?

We met our senior year in college (September 2017) at a country concert. I was standing around with my friends, who Karson (my husband) also knew. Karson and his friends came over to chat, and when the song “heartache on the dance floor” by Jon Pardi was being performed, Karson grabbed me to dance. When the concert ended, my friend and I got in a car with Karson and his friend to head over to grab drinks at a bar. We had some drinks, and I played hard-to-get and went home. I woke up to an instagram dm from Karson showing a screenshot of “heartache on the dance floor” playing on his phone, adding, “Great time at the concert. Get your number at least? Incase there’s another Pardi concert ever.” And the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Karson was the one when he met my family. It sounds so cliche, but it’s the honest truth. ‘The way he treated my family and immediately felt so comfortable starting conversations and genuinely wanting to know about them melted my heart.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His intelligence, his ability to walk into a room full of strangers and make 15 new friends, and his athleticism. Karson is a professional athlete, and his ability to be in this kind of lifestyle while also prioritizing his family and friends amazes me every day.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at a + be bridal in Minneapolis, MN. It was actually so opposite of what I thought I was going to go with. But when I walked in the boutique, I spotted the back of the dress on a window mannequin and thought it was SO beautiful. It ended up being the first dress I tried on. I tried on maybe 35 dresses after and not one of them came close to comparing to the Huxley Flow. I tried it back on and my friend and sister teared up, as did I. I knew it was the one. I felt so comfortable in it, the top corset-like, 3D floral design is so stunning, I truly felt like the most beautiful bride. I ended up pairing the Huxley flowy dress with the holly veil <3

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Besides marrying my best friend, we took a moment during the ceremony to look at everyone there witnessing us getting married. It was SO special to see everyone we love under one roof, celebrating us. It’s a moment you don’t get everyday. Seeing so many ones we love supporting us made me feel like we had an army standing behind us for the rest of our lives together.

What were your favourite details?

The DRESS was an absolute statement and paring that with the holly veil, having our dog be part of the day, and the overall florals in the room. We chose white roses and baby’s breath, and it made the room look so elegant and timeless.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Take a moment to stop everything and just breathe. The day goes SO fast. You spend so much time and money planning and once your wedding day is here, there’s so much going on that you can get lost in the moment. Don’t let that happen. Take 5 minutes to just look around and see all your planning come to life. Be present with every conversation you have with your guests. And make sure to spend your night WITH your husband 🙂
